About us

We are husband and wife Juan Carlos García and Nadia Astolfi García. We share a common passion for languages. We taught our three children Spanish and Italian from birth. They learnt English right before they began attending school. Please see below a little bit more about us.

Juan Carlos

I was born and raised in Spain. I graduated from college there with a BS on Computer Science by the University of Oviedo. I moved to the US over 25 years ago.

I was always very interested in languages and somehow they come easy to me. I can remember grammatical and syntactical rules, spellings, etc. in both English and Spanish.

I specialize in business and technical translations, although I never shun a challenge. No job is too small or too big.

Nadia

I was born in Manhattan. Both my parents are Italian. My first language was Italian and I was surrounded by the Italian culture from birth. I studied Italian in the Universitá per Stranieri (University for Foreigners) in Siena, Italy, as part of my BS on Business Administration specialized on Marketing with a minor in International Studies.

Driven by my will to keep my Italian heritage alive, after college I worked for US branches of Italian companies, namely Ilva (one of the biggest Italian steel companies) and Parmalat.

I love everything Italian. I also love teaching small children. I hold a Early Childhood Teaching Certificate and I thought why not combine my two passions and make a difference in the lives of youngsters whose parents care about them being exposed to the Italian language.

I can bring a fun and engaging curriculum to schools and day care centers so the children will both learn to speak basic Italian as well as acquire general knowledge about the Italian culture and its traditions.
